Bangkok March 2013

After Shanghai I decided to come back to Thailand for a few weeks before I head to Buenos Aires. Today in Bangkok me and CJ a girl I met in my hostel who also has a blog (whereiscj.blogspot.com) check it out. We headed to the Chatuchak Weekend Market which is the biggest market in Thailand. It's easiest to get there via the Skytrain and get off at Mo Chit which is the last stop on the Sukhumvit Line. There are signs leading you to the market and crowds of people so you will be able to find it easily. This market is the biggest and best market I have been to in Asia. There is a pheltora of items on sale including clothing, jewellery, shoes, accessories, food, samurai swords, books, mannequins, furniture and antiques. The market is huge and like a labyrinth, I don't think I would be able to see it all even if I was there for a week.

We were at the market for a few hours and had lunch while we were there. Although neither of us didn't really need anything we both managed to purchase jewellery, some clothes and presents for those at home. After a successful day at the market we headed back to the hostel for a breather and for some air conditioning. After we had relaxed a bit and caught up with friends we went out for some street food on an abandoned railway track. CJ had stir fried chicken curry and rice which I had chicken and fried noodles. It was yummy and pretty filling.

We came back to the hostel and chilled for a bit then went out a few hours later for dinner. There was a little street food restaurant around the corner so we went there. We had clams, Leo, fried noodle and I had chicken noodle soup with no broth. (Don't ask). It was nice all the same, we saw another lone traveller so we asked he if she wanted to join us. She did and it turns out she wasn't travelling but here on business. We had a nice conversation and an interesting dinner, the English girl, the Canadian and the American.

After dinner we headed back and proceeded to show one another hilarious YouTube videos including Call Me Maybe Chatroulette Version, Will Ferrell's The Landlord and the infamous Mila Kunis interview with Chris Stark. If you haven't seen any of these videos I demand you to YouTube them now for instant laughs. After a few hours bedtime called.
