Washington D.C. August 2013

Day 3

Today I decided to go to the Smithsonian Museum, there are several Smithsonian museums in Washington from American History, National History, Air and Space to the Portrait Gallery.  There are around 15 different Smithsonian Museums showing different things. I'm not really a gallery or museum person but went to one of them as I was in D.C.
I went to the Natural History Museum which would have been great for me if I was 11. There were several exhibitions on the different animals and mammals we have in the world. All Smithsonian museums are free and there were several children running around and parents at the Natural History Museum especially.
Across from the Natural History Museum is the Smithsonian Institute which looks like a huge castle. There's not much to see or do inside which was a but of a disappointment but it looks cool from the outside.

Later that day I went to Jazz in the Garden at the Sculpture Garden with my friends Ashley and Karly and their friends. The jazz was nice and there were several people dancing to the music especially couples. You can buy alcohol there so we got some Sangria and brought some also. We got the the garden at 6pm and the jazz lasted for a couple of hours. We then made our way home.
Day 4
Today I met my friend Karly in Georgetown which is a very a nice upper class area of D.C. There is a main high street with several shops such as Ted Baker, Brooks Brothers, Kate Spade and Sephora in addition to restaurants, hotels, cafes and a cinema. We walked to Georgetown University which is a few blocks from the main shopping street. It looks like any other red brick university, but a lot of buildings on the East coast are similar to England naturally. We then went to an Italian restaurant for some lunch, I had a delicious mozzarella and rocket salad and Karly had a pizza which looked divine.

After lunch we did some window shopping in Michael Kors, Kate Spade, a few furniture stores and Sephora. We then walked to the harbour front where you can see Virginia across the water. There were a few people paddling in the water. There are also a few restaurants by the harbour front and a hotel, there are several yachts and boats docked at the harbour also.
