Marrakech March 2014

Today we went for breakfast at the La Table Du Marche then walked to Marrakech Plaza which is the area where the Western stores in Marrakech such as Zara, Mango, Steve Madden and Monsoon. There are also other more Morocco like stores selling bags, teapots and trinkets.

My friend Hannah bought a bag at a local store then we walked over to the Medina to venture into the souks. As soon as you enter the souks the shop owners shout at you, asking you to come into their stores, look at their stock and calling us beautiful to try and get us to enter their store.
We entered a few shops and Hannah purchased a leather bag pack, leather duffle bag, argan oil and mint. I purchased argan oil, mint and spices.
After our long day of souk shopping we tried to find a place to find a snack, but alas all we could find is ice cream and sugar cane. So I bought a glass of sugar cane juice for 6 dirhams/£0.45/$0.75/€0.50 and if you've ever had sugar cane juice in the Caribbean you know how amazing it is which is why I was so happy to see it in Marrakech.

We walked back home and we were surprised by an invitation to a art gallery exhibition party in the hotel's main hall. There was free food and wine which we lapped up then headed to the Medina for some food. We found this cheap Moroccan place where main meals start at 60 dirhams/£4.50/$7.50/€5 so are got a salad, chicken tagine and kebabs
